Welcomes
New
Medical
Director
of
Neurology

Stanley P.
Fisher,
MD,
recently
joined
Nexus
Specialty
Hospital
as the new
medical
director
for its
neurology
division.
Dr. Fisher
joins
Nexus from
HEALTHSOUTH
Rehabilitation
Hospital
and its
Center for
Neurological
Research
and
Recovery,
where he
serves as
the
medical
director.
He also
serves as
the
co-director
of the
Methodist
Neurological
Institute’s
Movement
Disorders
and
Neurorehabilitation
Center.
Prior, he
worked as
a staff
neurologist
for the
Methodist
Hospital.

Fisher
brings a
vast array
of
knowledge
and
experience
gained at
some of
Houston’s
top
medical
facilities,”
said John

Cassidy,
MD,
president,
CEO, and
chief
medical
officer,
for Nexus
Health
Systems.

his
talents to
Nexus
Specialty
Hospital
and
believe he
will be a
great
addition
to our

As medical
director,
Dr. Fisher
will
direct
medical
care and
participate
in the
patient
care
management
system of
specialty
neurology
services
at Nexus
Specialty
Hospital.
He also
will
oversee
integration
of the
hospital’s
programs
with the
specialized
solutions
offered in
conjunction
with
Touchstone
Neurorecovery
Center at
the new
Touchstone
Program at
Nexus
Specialty
Hospital
located on
the
hospital’s
campus in
The
Woodlands,
TX.
Born and
raised in
the
Ukraine,
Dr. Fisher
received
his Doctor
of
Medicine
from MCP
Hahnemann
School of
Medicine
and his
Bachelor’s
degree in
biology,
cognitive
neuroscience,
and French
from
Temple
University,
both in
Philadelphia.
He
performed
a
fellowship
in
movement
disorders
as well as
his
residency
at the
University
of Texas –
Houston.
Dr. Fisher
is board
certified
in
Neurology
and is a
member of
numerous
professional
organizations,
including
the North
American
Neuromodulation
Society,
the Harris
County,
Houston,
and Texas
neurological
societies,
and the
American
Academy of
Neurology.
